The warm color of the sunset light on the autumn cottonwood trees belies how cold and windy it was when I took this picture. The weather forecast for the coming night called for temperatures in the twenties with high winds. My wife and I left the campground to go home shortly after I took this picture, our tails tucked, not being prepared for such conditions. I love Black Mesa, but, OH MY, it sure can be cold and windy!
